AMD 2024 Product Discontinuation.

• On Jan 1st AMD announced EOL for XC9500XL ™, CoolRunner ™ XPLA™ 3, CoolRunner II, Spartan ™ II, and Spartan 3, 3A, 3AN, 3E, 3ADSP Commercial/ Industrial “XC” and Automotive “XA” Product Families.
• Existing clients can give a final order for these devices on June 29 2024 and Final delivery will occur before Dec 28 2024.
• AMD has not identified any drop-in replacement for these parts.

This announcement is expected to severely affect many customers. The major challenges are

• If design files are lost recreating the RTL code from specification/requirement.
